Who we are

Our vision is to help create safer, better connected and more inclusive communities across the Northern Territory.

Neighbourhood Watch NT is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating safer, better connected and more inclusive communities across the Northern Territory. We are run for Territorians, by Territorians, and understand the unique challenges and strengths of the Territory because we live and work here too — across our suburbs, towns and remote communities.

We support Territorians with clear, practical safety guidance and act as a trusted link between community concerns and preventative action. Our focus is on proactive, community-driven approaches that help reduce opportunistic crime and strengthen everyday safety in homes, workplaces and public spaces.

You’ll find us at community events, collaborating with local partners and engaging directly with residents to share accessible, relevant information that reflects real Territory experiences. Through practical resources and on-the-ground engagement, we aim to help people feel informed, supported and confident in navigating their communities.

What we do

Support Community-Led Initiatives

With coordination across Northern, Katherine, Barkly and Southern regions, we ensure local voices help shape local safety priorities.

Our strategic goals

Education

We believe knowledge builds confidence — and confident communities are safer communities.

Education sits at the heart of Neighbourhood Watch NT. We provide practical, relevant and inclusive safety information to help Territorians make informed decisions about their homes, families, workplaces and communities.

Through workshops, campaigns, resources and on-the-ground engagement, we focus on clear, actionable strategies that reduce opportunistic crime and strengthen community awareness.

When people understand the risks — and the simple steps that can prevent them — they feel empowered, not fearful.

Connection

Stronger connections create safer neighbourhoods.

Safety is not something achieved in isolation. We work to bring people together, because connected communities are resilient communities.

By fostering conversations, encouraging participation and supporting regionally coordinated initiatives across the NT, we help turn information into action. We create opportunities for people to meet, learn and share responsibility, building networks of support that extend beyond individual households.

When communities know each other, they look out for each other — and that collective awareness is one of the most powerful tools in preventing opportunistic crime.
