Who are Neighbourhood Watch NT?

Neighbourhood Watch NT are a not for profit organisation who have been helping to safer, better connected and more inclusive Territory neighbourhoods since 1988.

We believe in raising awareness of safety strategies and resources, connecting neighbourhoods to create safer communities and educating the community on how they can help reduce opportunistic crime.

What does Neighbourhood Watch NT do?

Neighbourhood Watch NT’s purpose is to create safer, better connected and more inclusive Territory neighbourhoods. We aim to do this with a focus on two key elements: education and connection.

Education: Provide relevant and inclusive community safety information to all Territorians.

Connection: Help bring Territorians together to build safer and better informed communities.

Is Neighbourhood Watch NT a Government Organisation?

Neighbourhood Watch NT is a not for profit organisation but we work in partnership with the NT Government.

Does Neighbourhood Watch NT operate across the entire NT?

NHWNT has members throughout the whole of the NT. To ensure all members have access to information and resources. Each region is coordinated by a local community member. We currently have four regions: Northern, Katherine, Barkly and Southern.

Is Neighbourhood Watch NT Police run?

NHWNT partner with NT Police and work closely with them to help create safer, more secure Neighbourhoods.  However, we are a separate organisation. We are managed by a Management Committee made up of everyday Territorians and we have staff who run the operational side of the organisation.
