Become empowered with practical skills and awareness to navigate everyday life with confidence

About the workshops

Our personal safety workshops are free to the community and designed to provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance that helps people feel more confident navigating their everyday environments.

Delivered in partnership with Personal Protection Strategies and Victims of Crime NT, these sessions focus on simple preventative strategies that can help reduce vulnerability and improve personal safety in real-world situations.

Rather than relying on physical strength or complex techniques, the workshops emphasise awareness, confidence, and decision-making — equipping participants with tools to recognise risk, set boundaries, and respond safely to uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situations.

While the focus and examples may vary, every session aims to empower participants with practical knowledge that supports safer choices and greater confidence in everyday life.

A practical component is included to help participants understand how situations can escalate and to practise appropriate responses if something were to go wrong. The aim is not to encourage confrontation, but to build confidence, awareness and safer decision-making.

  • No. The workshops are designed for people of all fitness levels and abilities. The focus is on awareness, prevention and simple techniques rather than physical strength.

  • We understand that crime and anti-social behaviour can cause genuine concern, anxiety and uncertainty in our community. While broader solutions involve many organisations, government agencies and policy makers and long-term strategies, our role as a small not-for-profit community safety organisation is to support Territorians with practical knowledge and skills that can help them navigate everyday situations more confidently.

Our workshops focus on prevention, awareness and preparedness — equipping people with simple strategies that can reduce vulnerability and help them make safer decisions in their daily lives.
